Helicopter Spins Out of Control into Palm Trees at Frequented Southern California Coast

A chopper hovering above a crowded southern California coastline unexpectedly commenced twirling uncontrollably, eventually descending rapidly and crashing into a row of palm groves as beachgoers looked on.

Videos shared on social media capture the chopper commencing to spiral over the shoreline then falling in the direction of the edge of the coast, where it ends up lodged amidst palms and a staircase close to the shoreline route.

First Aid Information

Emergency responders reported five persons were taken to hospital including two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the crash on Saturday.

Three persons on the road were harmed. Specifics on their condition were not immediately available.

The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
